http://bit.ly/tryCPLPpracticetest This ~ 4 minute video clip features CPLP delegates working through CPLP practice test questions with a facilitator as part of the Owl's Ledge CPLP Mastery Series Knowledge Exam preparation course. In this clip, delegates make meaning out of the ATD Competency Model and ATD Learning System by answering four (4) questions from the ... Managing Learning Programs and Learning Technologies Areas of Expertise (AOEs) ... ... on the subject of Learning Information Systems. This video highlights the need for CPLP candidates to not only build their competence and confidence by taking multiple CPLP practice tests, but for candidates to also develop CPLP Knowledge Exam test taking strategies. For instance, in this example, real world experience is trumped by candidates discovering they must provide ATD expected answers - which don't always align with their real-world encounters. Founded by CPLP Pilot Program Pioneer, Trish Uhl, Owl's Ledge features accelerated, competency-based CPLP study prep resources delivered in a blended learning environment to help ATD Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) candidates prepare for the CPLP Knowledge Exam. Take a CPLP practice test right now: http://bit.ly/tryCPLPpracticetest VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS Female Moderator: This clip is from the Managing the Learning Function session of the Owl's Ledge CPLP Mastery Series Knowledge Exam preparation course. Male Facilitator: So question number one - Q1: A Learning Content Management System includes registration, prerequisite screening, and cancellation notification That is correct! The answer is False. Okay - let's see - question number two - Q2: A Learning Management System supports content creation Candidate: I'm writing "possible" [laughter] Female Moderator: And I would say - in the real world Madeline is right. Male Facilitator: M.E. is 100% correct - In in the real world, Madeline is right. In the real world, you may have a Learning Management System that supports content creation. BUT - If you were taking the CPLP Knowledge Exam, and you were given a scenario that said - "Madeline has been tasked from her organization to come up with a program that supports content creation - her request for purchases or request for proposals has gone out and she receives information back from a Learning Management System and a Learning Content Management System which one will she choose?" Candidate: You have to say the content system. Yes - You have to go, right, with the Learning Content Management System. Right - so the answer on that would be False. Yes - absolutely! Q3: Both an LMS and LCMS will track results of a course or evaluation That is correct - the Learning Content Management System could not care less about the results of a course or evaluation. It just isn't concerned about that. Q4: Finally, only the Learning Management System offers competency mapping or skill gap analysis Yes! That is correct! Everybody gets a Superman [sound effect] on that one too! Through discussing this - which is great, as M.E. mentioned - why we do this quiz is to make sure that we get that distinction, because it goes through and skills management it will allow you to map out the competencies. It will allow you to say, for this particular learning path - over this career mapping - If you want to get from here to here... Here are the online and instructor-led courses it will take for you to get there in order to close this skill gap. Here are the courses you need in order for this individual to get to this place or these things are identified to help them be successful These are things and the tools that are necessary to get there. Very well done! Any additional questions on LMS versus LCMS before we move into the second section? Candidate: I think I got it! Very good! Very good. Okay ... I'm just waiting for all these technologies to merge! It will be easier! It is ... It's exactly what it's doing - it's merging and and it's not as "cut and dry" but we're again we're doing it for the CPLP exam purposes too So you'll apply it one way in life, and apply it slightly differently on the CPLP Knowledge Exam. Candidate: Thank you, Jason - for the distinction! Sure! -- END -- "Certified Professional in Learning & Performance" and "CPLP" are marks of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) formerly known as the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD)

It definitely has a sexy tone to it right? Project… I just love the way it sounds. I wonder how cool it must sound in French. Proje… Well, project is a temporary endeavor to create a unique solution. Yeah that’s operations. No Well, the difference between a project and operations is fairly simple. A project ends. So, it’s temporary. You implement your project, you close it, you create a unique product/service/ or whatever outcome you wanted then you are done. Whereas in operations, it’s on-going and repetitive. You may have also heard about the terms program and portfolio. Let me just quickly explain them here. Program is multiple projects put together. Combined. And Portfolio is similarly. Multiple programs put together. So, it’s project, program, portfolio. Now before I go further, and dive deep. You need to understand something crucial. To run any project, you need 2 methodologies. The first one is a project life cycle and the second one is project management process. Most people confuse these 2. And if these are not clear, you can kiss the PMP certification goodbye. It’s absolutely amazing how many content creators in YouTube confuse these two. They are not interchangeable. You cannot afford to confuse a project life cycle with a project management process. Don’t worry I am going to make it very simple for you. Let’s start with Project Life Cycle. Project Life Cycle is unique to a project, to an industry, to your needs. It’s highly customizable. Think of it like this; a human development is a project. So, your life cycle is; 1) Conceiving 2) Birth 3) Childhood 4) Teenage hood. Teenage hood. Is that a word? Teenaging? 5) Adulthood 6) And death Easy stuff right? So, now if it was an IT project. I am not an IT but it would like something like this; High-level design Detailed Design Coding Testing Installation And Turnover This is project life cycle. The term cycle is a bit confusing here. I think. But who knows. This video covers; project management project management institute pmp project management professional certification project life cycle project management PMI managing a project project management fundamentals fundamentals of project management project management for beginners project management course
